NFL Football Betting – The Brett Favre Effect – Online Sportsbook

Yeah, he’s in the twilight of his career and yes, the never-ending circus around “will he or won’t he play” the last few years is tiresome, but Brett Favre just made the Minnesota Vikings a much better football team.

Despite the age and questions about his health, he is a proven QB and if his arm is healthy since off-season surgery, an real improvement over Sage Rosenfels and Tarvaris Jackson.

NFL football betting in sports betting community took note once the news of his signing was announced, as money flowed in on the “Over 9.5” for the Vikings “Season Win Total” at online sportsbook.

SPORTSBETTING.com also reported a jump in action on Minnesota to win the NFC North. As it stands, Minnesota is listed at +130 to win their division, the NFC North; they are also listed at +500 to win the NFC championship and +1300 to win this year’s Super Bowl.

2010 Miami Dolphins: NFL Schedules, Predictions and Odds

The Miami Dolphins of 2010 will likely find out early whether or not they will be a contender or a pretender in Super Bowl predictions at online sportsbooks with a tough NFL schedule of early games. The Dolphins open with what looks to be a winnable game at Buffalo against the Bills on September 12th but it gets rough after that starting with a September 19th game at NFC contender the Minnesota Vikings. That is followed up with a Sunday Night game at home against the New York Jets, last year’s AFC runner up and one of the favorites in NFL betting odds to win the AFC East. Miami will get a much needed bye in the schedule after a Monday Night game at home against New England on October 4th.

The Dolphins return from the bye to play the Green Bay Packers on October 17th and then host the Pittsburgh Steelers on October 24th. That is followed up with a game at Cincinnati on October 31st and then a trip to Baltimore on November 7th. The brutal four

Brett Favre: What Should We Expect From Him?

Brett Favre is in the news again. But this time it is for not showing up to mandatory practice for the Packers. Team relationships were already tense with Favre mentioning that he doesn’t feel like a part of the team since he retired and came back. He has even said that he wouldn’t mind being traded to any other team. And because things weren’t sorted out before Sunday’s beginning of camp, he didn’t show. The Packers have reported a little apprehension with all of this because they are a little nervous that he will sign with a rival. But luckily for them, his contract puts him with the Packers until 2010. Whatever happens in the next few weeks and months, we can be sure that we will be hearing a lot more of Brett Favre, and we can probably expect great things for him if he decides to play.

Favre has been in the public eye for many years, including being a huge motivator for those looking into football picks. Let’s take a look at

FOOTBALL BETTING SYSTEMS ? Pros and Cons

With the innovation of computer programs to do the analyzing for them, today’s handicappers and sports bettors can search for an angle, trend, or recurring situation at the click of a mouse.  Conversely, we “old school” era handicappers originally had to spend many pain-staking hours each day or each week, manually compiling and studying comparisons and past statistics.  Over my 35-year handicapping career, I’ve seen and studied about every system, angle, and trend that came down the pike, but have always used them as just one of my many tools for determining winners.

Are trends and systems always reliable enough to lay down your hard earned cash on a wager at the sports book and expect to win?  The obvious answer is “no”.  Although a valuable tool in handicapping, trends and systems are merely based on recurring results of past performances in given situations.  For example, a very popular

Eight years ago, Trevar Deed thought his life was over

Eight years ago, Trevar Deed thought his life was over.

He was 16, a lost soul with a broken family who often scrambled to find a place to live. He wavered between life’s right and wrong paths.

One night, the Phoenix Camelback High School student responded to a hard knock on the door. It was the Phoenix police. He was being charged with sexual assault and kidnapping of a classmate.

It was a crime, he said, he didn’t commit.

Today, it’s hard to believe how life has changed for Deed. He is a standout college football player on the radar of NFL scouts.

His improbable journey was made possible by the support of many. A teacher and a lawyer who took up his case. A part-time coach who saw his promise. Many friends including a woman named Kathy Kope, a former Camelback administrator known for reaching out to struggling students.

Three months after his arrest, she spotted him walking out of the principal’s

How American College Football Elevated To Pro

In the early 19th century, some students at Princeton played a game that was known as “ballown,” where they used their fists and their feet to advance the ball. During that time, there were no hard and fast established rules; the goal was simply to advance the ball past the opposing team. At Harvard, freshmen and sophomores competed in a game that was called “Bloody Monday,” a football-like game that was played on the first Monday of every school year. Around 1860, the game soon caught popularity among the Boston Common and had several variations.

The First Intercollegiate Football Game

Around 1865, colleges began organizing football games, which still did not have clearly instituted rules and gameplay. Princeton established some rudimentary rules some time in 1867 and in that year, American football was patented for the first time. In addition to Princeton’s rules, Rutgers College contributed a set of rules in that same year. In
